What are kraft cosmetic boxes?
Kraft cosmetic boxes are brown board cartons and kit boxes for skincare, oils and grooming products. A single bottle usually goes in a tall tuck end carton, while sets go in a flat corrugated box with an insert that gives every bottle its own slot. All of them arrive flat.

Kraft Cosmetic Boxes Sizes
| Size | Typical inside size | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Dropper | 40 × 40 × 110 mm | 30 ml dropper |
| Bottle | 50 × 50 × 140 mm | 50 ml bottle |
| Duo | 120 × 60 × 140 mm | Two bottles |
| Kit | 250 × 150 × 40 mm | Oil sample set |
Sizes are typical starting points, not stock sizes. Every box is cut to the inside size you send.
Who uses kraft cosmetic boxes?
Small skincare makers, grooming labels and aromatherapy sellers. Their products are usually in amber or clear glass, and they want a box that looks plain, honest and well made.
Brown kraft gives that look without much print. A border and a name in black ink, like the dropper carton in our photos, is often all a small brand needs.
The same board also suits gift sets and sample kits, so a whole skincare line can share one look from the single bottle to the discovery box.
Makers who also sell bars of soap can match these cartons with kraft soap boxes in the same board.
How tall should a box be for a 30 ml dropper?
Measure the bottle with the dropper screwed on. The bulb and collar add a good deal of height, and a box measured to the glass alone will not close.
Then add about 2 mm to the width and depth and 3 to 5 mm to the height. The carton should hold the bottle upright without rattling.
These typical sizes are a starting point only. Every cosmetic carton is still drawn to your own bottle.
| Typical size | Inside L × W × H (mm) | Fits | Usual style |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dropper | About 40 × 40 × 110 | A 30 ml dropper bottle | Tall tuck end carton |
| Bottle | About 50 × 50 × 140 | A 50 ml bottle or pump | Tall tuck end carton |
| Duo | About 120 × 60 × 140 | Two bottles side by side | Carton with a two-slot insert |
| Kit | About 250 × 150 × 40 | An oil sample set | Flat kit box with an insert |
Pumps and domed caps catch people out; taking inside sizes for a kraft box covers them.
Which closure suits a single bottle?
Most single bottles go in a tuck end carton. The flaps tuck in at the top and base, and the carton keeps its square shape on a shelf.
- Straight tuck end: both tongues tuck in from the back panel, so the front stays clean for print.
- Reverse tuck end: the tongues tuck from opposite sides, which is quick to pack on a long run.
- Crash-lock base: the base locks into place as the carton opens, so a glass bottle sits on a flat floor.
- Hang hole: a tab on the top flap lets the carton hang on a peg in a shop.
For a tall, narrow carton, a thumb notch on the top flap makes the tongue easier to lift without tearing the board.
Can one kraft box hold two bottles?
Yes. A duo box puts two products side by side, often a small oil and a larger bottle of a different height, like the pair in our photos.
A card insert with two cut-outs keeps each bottle in its place. Without it, the shorter bottle tips over and knocks the taller one when the box is moved.
The front panel can stay plain with a round stamp-style logo, or carry a window so both labels show through.
Duo and trio packs work well as gifts for birthdays or Mother's Day, when a buyer wants two products that clearly belong together.
How do you plan a skincare sample kit?
A kit box is wide and shallow. The lid lifts to show a row of small bottles, each standing in its own hole in a card insert, with room for droppers to one side.
- Count the bottles and any loose droppers or pipettes the kit needs.
- Measure one bottle with its cap on, and the longest item you plan to include.
- Decide the layout: two rows of six is easy to read and keeps the box compact.
- Tell us whether the lid should be printed inside, for example with a short note on each product.
- Approve the free proof, which shows the insert holes drawn to your bottle sizes.
There are more insert layouts on the mailer boxes with card inserts page, including deep trays for larger jars.
Which kraft board suits skincare cartons?
Single bottle cartons use brown kraft folding board. It folds into a sharp, upright box and takes fine black type cleanly, which matters when the side panel lists ingredients.
Kit boxes and anything sent in the post use brown kraft corrugated. The fluted layer gives the walls a little cushion around glass.
Ask for white-lined kraft if a serum carton needs a white inside behind its window.
The differences between brown, white-lined and fluted boards are set out in our guide to kraft board.
What print works on kraft cosmetic boxes?
Black ink is the workhorse. It holds thin borders, small icons and ingredient text without blurring, as the dropper carton in our photos shows.
A second colour, such as a deep red band, adds a label feel without full colour print. White ink works for a bold logo on the front, but keep small text in black.
Skincare kits often carry a printed lid lining, a short note per oil that greets the buyer on opening.
Our page on how ink looks on brown kraft compares black, white and colour on the same board.
Does a cosmetic box need an insert?
A tall carton cut close to a single bottle usually does not. The walls hold the bottle upright on their own.
Inserts help when a bottle is much shorter than its box, when there are two or more bottles, or when the box goes in the post. A raised card platform can lift a short bottle so its label lines up with a window.
Inserts can be folding board or corrugated, and they arrive flat with the boxes.
Which mistakes are common with oil and serum boxes?
- Measuring a dropper bottle without its bulb fitted.
- Setting ingredient text too small to read on brown board.
- Using white ink for fine text, where it can look patchy on kraft.
- Leaving a duo box without an insert, so the bottles knock together.
- Ordering kit boxes before the vial size is final.
- Placing a window where the bottle label does not line up with it.
Each of these shows up on the free proof if you check it against a real bottle, so take a minute over it.

Questions About Kraft Cosmetic Boxes
Straight answers from the people who cut and print the boxes. Open any question to read the reply.
Can a kraft cosmetic box fit a bottle with a pump?
Yes. Give us the height with the pump fitted and locked down, and we size the carton around that.
Do kraft cosmetic boxes work for amber glass droppers?
Yes. Amber droppers are the most common bottle we box. A tall tuck carton cut close to the bottle keeps it upright.
Can I print ingredients on a kraft cosmetic box?
Yes. Black ink on a side or back panel keeps small ingredient text readable on brown kraft.
Is there a kraft box for a sample set of essential oils?
Yes. A flat kit box with a card insert holds a row of small bottles, with room for droppers to one side.
Can a skincare duo box hold two different bottle heights?
Yes. The insert is cut to each bottle, so a short oil and a tall serum both sit level and still.
Can the lid of a cosmetic kit box be printed inside?
Yes. Inside print on the lid is a common choice for kits, used for product notes or a welcome line.
Do you make kraft boxes for grooming products?
Yes. Oils, balms and serums for grooming lines use the same cartons and duo packs shown on this page.
Can a kraft cosmetic carton have a hang hole?
Yes. We can add a punched tab above the top flap so a serum carton hangs on a shop peg.
Will a white ink logo show on a brown cosmetic box?
It will for bold shapes and larger type. For thin lines and small text, black ink gives a sharper result.
Can a cosmetic box have a window to show the label?
Yes. A die-cut front window can line up with your bottle label, open or backed with clear film.
Which kraft board is used for a cosmetic kit box?
Kit boxes are usually brown kraft corrugated with a folding board insert. Single bottle cartons use folding board.
Can my cosmetic boxes match my soap or candle boxes?
Yes. Use the same board and ink across the range, and your designers will keep the logo position consistent.
