Kraft Soap Boxes Made to Fit Your Handmade Bars
Brown kraft and handmade soap belong together: the board looks plain and honest, and it lets the colour of the bar do the talking. We cut each box to your bar, with a window or a sleeve if you want the soap on show.

What are kraft soap boxes?
Kraft soap boxes are small brown cartons, sleeves and window boxes made for bars of soap, from guest soaps to chunky slabs. Most are tuck end cartons that close without glue, printed with the scent and the maker's name. They arrive flat and fold in seconds.

- Die-cut front window, open so the scent comes through
- One colour, two colours, full colour or foil on kraft

| Large bar | 100 × 70 × 35 mm | Chunky bar |

Sizes are typical starting points, not stock sizes. Every box is cut to the inside size you send.
Who uses kraft soap boxes?
Cold process soap makers are the heart of it: people pouring and cutting bars in a home workshop or a small studio, selling at markets, in gift shops and online.
Bath and body shops order them for their own-brand bars. Hotels and guest houses use the small size for guest soaps. Wedding planners order a few dozen as favours.
Soap boxes sit in our kraft soap, candle and cosmetic boxes range alongside boxes for candles and skincare.
Which soap box style suits your bar?
Our photos show the main options side by side. Each one shows a different amount of soap and uses a different amount of board.
| Style | What the customer sees | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Tuck end carton | A closed box, all print | Bars that need full ingredient panels |
| Window carton | The bar's face through a cut-out | Swirled or layered soaps worth showing |
| Open-ended sleeve | Both ends of the bar and its top | Rustic bars, markets, smelling before buying |
| Tall carton | A closed box for a pump bottle | Liquid soap sold beside the bars |
How does a soap box close?
A tuck end carton has a flap at each end that tucks inside the box. A small slit lock on the tuck flap holds it shut on a shelf, and the customer opens it with a thumb.
A sleeve has no closing at all. The band wraps the bar and the soap holds it in place; one photo here shows a yellow bar standing in an open kraft wrap. It is quick to pack and lets people smell the soap.
What size soap box do you need?
Measure a cured bar, not a fresh one. Soap shrinks a little as it cures, and a box cut to a fresh bar will feel loose by the time it sells.
Measure length, width and height in millimetres, then add a couple of millimetres each way. Hand-cut bars vary, so measure a few and use the largest.
- Small bar, such as a guest soap: about 70 × 50 × 25 mm
- Standard bar, a typical 100 g bar: about 90 × 65 × 30 mm
- Large bar, a chunky hand-cut slab: about 100 × 70 × 35 mm
- Dispenser, a pump bottle carton: about 90 × 70 × 200 mm
These are common starting sizes, not stock sizes. Send your own bar size and we cut to it.
Can a soap box have a window?
Yes, and soap makers ask for windows more than anything else. A die-cut window on the front, like the arched cut-out in one of our photos, shows the swirl or the colour of the bar and lets the scent out.
Most soap makers leave the window open rather than adding film. The customer can smell the bar through it, which sells soap better than any description.
How does print look on a kraft soap box?
Black ink is the classic: a logo, the scent name and the ingredients in one colour. A spot colour band, like the bright orange panel in one of our photos, makes each scent easy to spot in a row of identical boxes.
White ink on brown board suits illustrated designs, such as a white flower drawing with a soft pink accent. Foil on kraft adds a metallic stripe for a gift range.

What should go on the box?
Cosmetic products sold in the UK need certain information on the pack, and soap is a cosmetic product. Check the labelling rules for your product with your safety assessor before you finalise artwork.
In practice most soap boxes carry the following, and our designers can lay it out for you on the dieline.
- Your brand name and the scent or product name on the front.
- The ingredient list on a side or back panel, in a readable size.
- The net weight of the bar.
- Your business name and UK address.
- A batch code, often stamped or stickered after packing.
Which kraft board works for soap?
Brown kraft folding board is the standard. It creases cleanly around a small bar, takes fine print for ingredient lists and looks good with or without a window.
Brighter inside colour, or a pale backdrop behind the window, comes from white-lined kraft, offered on request. For soap that sweats in humid rooms, a sleeve lets air reach the bar.
Selling boxed soap at markets and in gift shops
On a market table, stand the boxes upright in rows by scent, with one unboxed bar at the front of each row for people to pick up and smell. Sleeves and window boxes do this job on their own.
Gift shops prefer closed tuck cartons with a clear front panel and a barcode space on the base. They stack neatly, survive being picked up a few times, and keep the bar clean until it is sold.
Gift sets of three bars work well in a shallow lid-and-base box with a card divider. Ask about it when you quote, and keep the single bar boxes in the same print for a matching look.
What mistakes do soap makers make with boxes?
- Sizing boxes to fresh bars, so cured bars rattle
- Using one box size for bars cut by hand at different widths
- Placing a window where the bar's plain side faces out
- Printing ingredients in a font too small to read
- Ordering a box for each scent when one box with a scent sticker would do
The last point saves a lot of money. One printed box with a small coloured sticker for each scent keeps your range flexible.
How do I order kraft soap boxes?
Send the size of a cured bar, the style you want, the quantity and your print. If you have a few scents, tell us whether they share one design or need their own.
A plain tuck carton starts from £0.25 per box, and your written quote gives the exact figure. A designer sets your soap artwork on the dieline and sends a free proof; edits are unlimited.
Once you approve, we make your boxes in 4–6 business days and send them by free tracked delivery to your UK address, arriving in 2–3 business days. Any soap box with a print fault, a sizing error or delivery damage is reprinted or refunded once we see photos sent within 10 days.

Questions About Kraft Soap Boxes
Straight answers from the people who cut and print the boxes. Open any question to read the reply.
Should I measure my soap before or after curing?
After. Bars shrink a little as they cure, so a box cut to a fresh bar can end up loose.
Can a kraft soap box have an open window?
Yes. An open die-cut window shows the bar and lets the scent through, which many soap makers prefer to a film window.
Is a sleeve or a tuck box better for soap?
A sleeve is quicker to pack and lets people smell the bar. A tuck box gives you more room for ingredients and keeps the bar cleaner on a shelf.
Can I use one soap box design for every scent?
Yes. Many makers print one box and add a small scent sticker. It keeps costs down and lets you add new scents without new boxes.
Do you make boxes for liquid soap bottles?
Yes. A tall tuck carton for a pump bottle is made the same way as a bar box, cut to the bottle's size.
Can the ingredient list go on the box?
Yes. Our designers lay out the ingredient list on a side or back panel. Check the wording with your safety assessor before you approve the proof.
Will brown kraft show soap oil marks?
Brown kraft hides a light oily mark better than white board does. Wrapping the bar in paper first keeps the box cleaner.
Can I have gold foil on a kraft soap box?
Yes. Foil on kraft is an option and suits a logo or a thin stripe on a gift range.
Can you make soap boxes for guest soaps?
Yes. Small cartons for guest soaps are common for hotels, guest houses and wedding favours.
Can I order soap boxes in two sizes for different bars?
Yes. Each bar size gets its own artwork fit and its own proof.
Do soap boxes arrive ready to use?
They arrive flat with the side seam glued. You fold each box and tuck the ends, which takes a few seconds.
Can the soap box be printed on the inside?
Yes. Inside print is an option, and the inside of the tuck flap is a nice place for a short thank-you.
